Solar Cooking in Hertfordshire!
23 May 2014
MD Roger Whitten tries out the new Universal Economy model by cooking a meal at home in Hertfordshire.
While our cookers have been tested and used successfully in many sunny countries like Morocco, Cyprus and Pakistan, we haven't done much solar cooking here in the UK. Tuesday's warm and sunny weather (20 May) presented a perfect opportunity for Roger to cook lunch, consisting of fried chicken, steamed carrots and rice, which took about 2.5 hours in all (although the chicken took much less time).
Our next cooking session will involve preparing a more complex meal in the Midlands, which you will be able to watch on video. Let's hope we have lots of sunshine soon!Back to News
